NEW YOUTUBE VIDEO!! - February 15, 2013

Welcome all! I just got done with a new youtube vid. It's Squares Suspended by Andrew York. This comes from the Woven Harmony collection and is one of my favorite guitar pieces. I first heard this at the Christopher Parkening masterclass in Bozemon, MT 2009. It's been one I love to play and one many like to hear. I'll add the audio along with calendar dates for 2013 by the end of the weekend.

More music info - January 28, 2013

The "music" page will see a dramatic makeover in the month of February 2013. There are several pieces that will be re-recorded, dropped, and/or added to the playlist. These up to date recordings will reflect the up to date playing standard I'm at. Many of these recordings were done between 2008-2013 making them great at the time, but not reflecting my current abilities.

If you need to hear some recordings for an event, call or send me an email. I will get you some un-edited rough ideas that sound better than the posted ones on the site. Thanks for your understanding.

"Keep it Cool" - May 22, 2012

Guitar maintenance tip:

-As summer quickly approaches and the heat starts cranking up outside remember that too much of it is bad for your instrument. If you can, I encourage you keep your guitar in a spot no hotter than 80deg. F. If it's in your car be sure to 1) keep it in a shady spot. Using a beach towel will help with direct sunlight. 2) vent your windows to keep some air flow in the vehicle 3) don't store it in your trunk, and 4) Always keep it in the case.

Thank you for visiting this site!

Have a great and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Jesse again,

Here is the link to 'Rumores de La Caleta' which will be played as part of an Isacc Albeniz 3 piece set for the concert on May 8th. I started working on this piece Monday March 27th after 2 years of not playing it. It turned out good enough for me to make a last minute decision to add it to the concert program. Enjoy!

Projects Suspended - April 3, 2012

**Special Announcement!**

Just to keep everyone updated: effective immediately, I will be suspending all new events that may come up until after the concert May 8th. I'm looking at the calendar and although I am very happy there's plenty of work in it, I won't accept new events, or gigs for the month. This will give me time to focus on the concert, and those who attend will not be disappointed.

The concert program is a very impressive list of pieces and requires lots of attention. I'm already spending at least 4 hours/day practicing for it and believe me, it will be a wonderful concert. I'd like to thank everyone for the April bookings in advance. I'd like to make sure all who can attend the concert to please do. This is the program that I will take on tour in the fall/winter 2012/2013. A free opportunity to listen to music of this caliber won't happen often.

Thanks San Angelo and the surrounding areas for your support, and thank you for understanding my priorities. Hope you have a great April!!

Next and only public event for this month is April 15, ASU Faculty & Friends recital at the Museum of Fine Arts 2:00pm

San Angelo Wine and Food Festival: Thursday kick off, Food and Wine Pairing April 26th Museum of Fine Arts 7:00pm $50 per person.

In the Odessa News - March 27, 2012

Hey everyone,

Just letting yall know, I attended the West Texas Guitar Festival hosted by UTPB in Midland Texas at the all-new Wagner-Noel Performing Arts Center this past weekend and was also an instructor for a workshop and a masterclass. The festival brought in Jazz great Bobby Broom and his Deep Blue Organ Trio Friday night and world renown classical guitarist Ana Vidovic Saturday night.

This link is from the Odessa American newspaper for Monday March 26th. I heard from a Red Raider colleague who lived in Odessa that this picture and the article made the front page of the newspaper! This is a great way of showing how West Texas Guitar studio is starting to make it's presence known in the greater WTX area!

Live music this weekend - September 22, 2011

Hey folks, just to keep you up to date on the live music stuff this weekend. Unfortunately my Friday and Saturday music will be at a private event for a wedding rehearsal dinner and ceremony, but if you are attending the events and celebrations that are in conjunction with the Gibson wedding in Christoval then you are lucky. I'll be with that crew, Dorothy Douthit, and her string quartet for the festivities this weekend. My next public performance will be Thursday the 29th at the Convention Center for the taste of home cooking show. More details in the News feed will come up soon.

Events this weekend (9-17) - September 15, 2011

Hey everyone!

Just want to let you know what is happening with WTX Guitar this weekend. Saturday morning I'll be playing lead for Daniel Makins (www.danielmakins.com) at the Water Lilly Festival. Music starts at around 9:00am and will run for an hour or so. If the morning thing doesn't work out for you I'll be playing at the Black Swan Wine Bar in the evening from 8-11pm. It might go later depending on the crowd out that night. Music will start off with classical guitar followed by a rock/Blues set.

In the unfortunate news category I have ran into some technical problems with my CD recording project. I am in the process of finding out some solutions and waiting for a part to come in, perhaps another mixer. I am still shooting for a CD release Sometime in mid-November. I will keep yall updated on that project as I diagnose the issues. Thanks for checking the page and Don't forget the email list on the upper-left hand side of the page.

Monday Sept 12th - September 12, 2011

I hope everyone had a restful, reflecting weekend. I am working hard on that youtube video. I want great quality and also having the know-how to upload it in HD would help. It should be posted by the end of the week and to help with the anticipation I'll go ahead and let you know that the video will be of the Schubert Ave Maria.

That along with some demos for the CD project are on deck this week. If this demo for the CD goes well, I can start practicing, recording and editing on a full scale with the 8-10 pieces that will be on the album. Thanks for checking up with the site and if you haven't done so already, sign up on the mailing list in the top-left hand corner. Glad to have seen it grow since the beginning of the year!!! God Bless!
